Better To Give Than Receive Toy Drive

The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of giving and thinking about others.  Christmas is the season of joy, of holiday greetings exchanged, of gift-giving, and of families united.   It is a celebration of life and of those who are sharing our lives with us.  While some of us are fortunate enough to exchange gifts with our family and friends, the reality is that not everyone shares these blessings.

Saturday, December 22, 2012 we hosted our first annual “Better to Give than Receive Toy Drive”.   Jazzy Girls Luxury Hair Collection partnered with Glamm Houston, 2Loud Magazine, Dat Red Carpet, High Heel Junkie, Make Up Squared Cosmetics and Frenchy’s Chicken, to create a festive scene for guests to donate toys to children that were not likely to experience the joys of Christmas.   SpoiledLatina & IvyShades hosted the event and Houston’s Magic 102.1 radio station broadcasted so you know this event was HOTT!  Houston’s Favorite DJ SupaStar was on the 1s and 2s and kept the party jumping.

During this toy drive, we collected hundreds of toys.  Guests were able to participate in a raffle to win an I pad and tickets to a local concert.   Everyone was able to mingle, network, and reflect on the reason for the season and receive photo ops on the Red Carpet with their donated toy. All of the toys were donated to Houston Area Women’s Center and Make A Wish Foundation, which reaches out to underprivileged families and children in the Houston community.

Our very own C.E.O., Velma Trayham said, “This annual event hopes to draw more neighbors and volunteer groups throughout the greater Houston area in the years to come.”  Our C.E.O., thoroughly believes in giving back to the community and what better way than a Christmas toy drive.    As a result of the efforts of everyone involved in our Toy Drive, over a hundred children were provided with gifts to make this holiday one that they will never forget.

AllStar Gifting Suite & Luxury Shopping Brunch Blog

The NBA holds its All-Star Weekend every February, with a variety of basketball-related events, exhibitions, and performances ending in the NBA All-Star Game held on Sunday night.
Jazzy Girls Luxury Hair, g.l.a.m LLC, and TreaDay Management & Publicity joined to present the Luxury 2013 NBA All-Star Gifting Suite & Shopping Brunch.

On Saturday, February 16, 2013 here at Jazzy Girls Beauty Boutique the event was by invitation only and attended by A-list celebrities and personalities, socialites and fashion lovers alike.  Trina, The Baddest Diamond Princess, came through with so much energy and love.  Turned All the way Up, Trina received many different goodies from up and coming fashion designers.
Along with Jordan Antonia,  female artists signed to Shaquille O’Neal’s record label, Deja34, Yung Ralph, Young Lyric, and D. Woods of Danity Kane  were a few of the music industry artists in attendance.  They all gave the crowd a sample of their music and kept the party jumping.

NY Jets very own Darrin Walls stopped by and graced us with his presence….it was great to have a Champion in the building! : )   The suite highlighted a red carpet and DJ as our guests were exposed to top of the line products from up and coming designers and pampering services.

Hosted by the Feisty VH1s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Joseline Hernandez, Sunday’s Shopping Brunch was open to the public with an admission fee.
Shopping guests were able to indulge in decadent food and cocktails as they discovered new designs from luxury vendors, shopping the brands that the celebrities shopped the day before.
To everyone’s surprise, Trina stopped by again to do a little more shopping and support her girl Joseline & everyone’s favorite Stevie J “Stebbie”.  This infamous couple came through with so much love.  It was a pleasure to be in their presence.  They were Funny to interact with in person.

Both events took place at our Jazzy Girls Beauty Boutique, located at 2015 W. Alabama St. Houston, TX 77098 and if you were not in attendance, you missed out.  But don’t fret, be on the lookout for our next event….You know it’s going to be HOTT!
